ACCREDITEDMost of Malden is wood-frame two- and three-families — Edgeworth, Maplewood, Linden — where the kitchen has been redone around plumbing that hasn't moved since the house went up. Near the center there are brick blocks from the sixties with a through-wall sleeve under every window, and whatever replaces a dead unit has to fit the opening that already exists.
The towers that went up around the Orange Line are a different building entirely: names left at a front desk, a service elevator booked in advance, and a window when the loading bay is free.
These stages may vary slightly depending on the type of appliance being repaired and the specific requirements of the client.
Keeping your household appliances running smoothly is crucial, and we're here to help. At our company, we specialize in repairing a wide range of appliances, providing efficient and effective solutions for any issue.
No surprises. No hidden fees. Just honest, upfront pricing for quality HVAC & appliance repair.
Access, parking and what the buildings here do to a service call.
The city says most downtown buildings with their own parking are not eligible for street permits and must park on site, often a garage too low for a work van. So we ask management for the loading bay or the service entrance and a window when it is free. Leave our name at the desk and book the service elevator; those decide the visit more than the machine does.
Malden's general winter rule puts parking on one side of every street, odd or even depending on the year, from the first significant snow until April 1, with some streets excepted by sign. That halves the curb. Tell us which side your house is on and whether the driveway is plowed, and expect the main arteries to be towed the moment an emergency is declared.
Not today. Malden's Historical Commission works under the demolition-delay law, not the local-historic-district law, and a study committee is still looking at downtown and Corey Road as possible districts. So a condenser on a two-family in Edgeworth or Maplewood answers to zoning, the landlord and the neighbors, not to a design-review board. If a district is adopted, that changes for those streets only.
Probably. Most of Malden's permit streets surround the Orange Line stations, enforced weekdays 7 to 7 on most and around the clock in one area; there is no city-wide resident parking. The program targets commuters, not a van on a call, but a ticket is a ticket, so a driveway or the unrestricted side of the street matters more here than elsewhere in the city.
