Bosch dishwashers sold here are built by BSH in New Bern, North Carolina, but the engineering is European. Drying is by condensation: the last rinse runs hot, the stainless tub cools faster than the dishes, and the moisture condenses on the walls and drains away. There is no exposed heating element on the tub floor; the heater is built into the circulation pump underneath. The 800 Series and Benchmark add a zeolite cartridge that pulls water out of the air and gives back heat. A float in the base pan stops the wash and runs the drain pump whenever water collects under the machine. The quiet ratings come from insulation wrapped around the tub, which changes how the machine is opened up.
Parts follow the rating plate. Bosch calls the model number the E-Nr, and it ends with a slash and two digits, the production revision; the same E-Nr with a different suffix can take a different pump or board, and the FD number dates the unit.

Not necessarily. Condensation drying works on glass and ceramic, which hold heat; plastic cools too fast to shed water and comes out damp on any Bosch below the zeolite models. Rinse aid is required for the system to work, and cracking the door at the end helps. If glass and ceramic are also wet and the cycle finishes early, the heater in the circulation pump or its sensor needs testing.
Water has reached the float in the base pan, and the machine is doing what it is designed to do. The leak can come from a pump seal, a hose, the door gasket or the sump, and it is often small. The repair is finding that source and drying the base. Tipping the machine to empty the pan without fixing the leak just brings the fault back.
Common dishwasher parts, pumps, latches and control modules, are stocked by US distributors and the wait is short. Oven parts and low-volume items for the Benchmark line take longer and may go on backorder. The suffix after the slash in the E-Nr is the production revision, and the same model can use a different board or pump across revisions, so an order without it risks the wrong part.
When the circulation pump with its heater fails on a unit past its first decade, or when the control module and pump go together; that sits close to replacement cost. The exception is the 18-inch and ADA-height models: the replacement pool is small, the cabinet opening is fixed, and keeping the existing unit running is usually the cheaper route for a condo kitchen.
