Ductless System Repair Greater Boston | Emergency 24/7 Commercial & Residential Service

If you own a ductless system in or around Greater Boston, it's important to be aware of the most common problems that can occur with your unit so that you can quickly identify issues and seek repair services to maintain optimal comfort and energy efficiency.

Not cooling Dirty condenser coils Won't turn on Electrical faults Compressor failure Won't hold temperature

Several zones on one compressor, and why one room drifts

Ductless here means the multi-zone case: one outdoor unit feeding several heads through a branch box or a multi-port condenser, in a house or small commercial space. Each head has its own expansion valve (in the outdoor unit or branch box, not the head) and its own wiring, so "one room warm, the rest fine" is a real starting point: that zone's valve, its lineset, its sensor, its wiring - or the system charge, since a multi-split low on refrigerant often shows in one zone first. Heads set to opposite modes on some systems throw a conflict code that is not a failure.

Some complaints are design, not damage. A multi-zone compressor turns down only a fraction as far as a single-zone unit, so when one small head is the only one calling it cannot run low enough: that head runs flat out or cycles, some refrigerant bleeds through the idle heads, and humidity control suffers. No part fixes that, and a diagnosis should say so rather than swap boards.

In commercial rooms the heads are ceiling cassettes or ducted units above a drop ceiling, often with the branch box up there too; ceiling access is part of the plan.
