ACCREDITEDSomerville is the densest city in Massachusetts, and the kitchens show it: stacked laundry in a closet, a compact dishwasher, a range with thirty inches of clearance and nothing to spare. Getting the machine out is half the repair.
Most streets are permit parking. We plan arrival around that rather than letting the clock run while a van circles the block looking for a space.
These stages may vary slightly depending on the type of appliance being repaired and the specific requirements of the client.
We understand that your appliances are an integral part of your home, and that's why we offer repair services for a wide range of appliances.
No surprises. No hidden fees. Just honest, upfront pricing for quality HVAC & appliance repair.
Access, parking and what the buildings here do to a service call.
No. Somerville sells parking permits directly to contractors and tradespeople, month by month, and permit parking is not enforced on Sundays or holidays, so the visitor pass stays yours. What helps is knowing whether there is a driveway or a legal spot within a few doors, because a refrigerator on a dolly does not travel a block.
Somerville does it differently from Boston: instead of a few large districts it has dozens of small ones, some a single building, across Prospect Hill, Spring Hill, Winter Hill, Union Square and elsewhere. The Historic Preservation Commission publishes the master list. If your address is on it, exterior changes visible from a public way get reviewed, so a condenser goes to the rear or a side wall out of view.
It is the normal Somerville arrangement, and it works if the run is short and the hood is clear. Lint packs the hood, a bird nests in it, and the neighbor's siding gets the moisture. We check the termination from outside before anything else, because a dryer that takes two cycles is usually a vent, not a heater. Moving the vent is a different job than clearing it.
It matters for your car. Somerville sweeps April 1 through December 31 on a set day of the month for each side of the street, and a vehicle left in the way is fined. A van that arrives during the sweep parks on the other side and pays its own ticket if it gets one. Tell us the day when you book and we avoid the hours the sweeper owns.
