Burners not working Gas burners won't ignite Electric elements not heating Control knobs not working Strange noises Cooktop cracked

Both halves on one supply

A range is an oven and a cooktop on one supply. An electric range takes 240 volts on two 120-volt legs, and the clock and display run on one of them. If the display is lit but nothing on the surface or in the oven gets hot, one leg is missing - half of a double-pole breaker, the cord or the receptacle - electrician's territory rather than an appliance part. If only the oven is cold, the fault is inside the range: element, sensor or relay board.

A gas range splits the same way. The surface burners spark from a module; the oven lights from a glow-bar igniter through its safety valve. The two ignition systems fail independently, so burners that light while the oven stays cold point at the oven igniter, not the gas supply.

Nearly everything on a range is serviced from the back or under the cooktop, so the unit gets pulled forward. A true slide-in overlaps the countertop and has to be lifted clear of it, which slows the pull; a front-control freestanding model only looks like one and pulls like any other. On the way back, the rear foot must re-engage the anti-tip bracket.

A kitchen with a stove top.
  1. Inspection Our specialists will begin by inspecting the range to identify the problem. They will examine the burners, heating elements, controls, and other components to determine the root cause of the issue.
  2. Diagnosis Once the problem has been identified, our specialists will diagnose the issue in greater detail. They may use specialized tools to test the range's electrical components, gas connections, or airflow, depending on the problem.
  3. Repair After diagnosing the problem, our specialists will proceed with the repair work. This may involve replacing a faulty component, cleaning out a clogged burner, or making adjustments to the oven's heating system.
  4. Testing Once the repair work is complete, our specialists will test the range to ensure that it is functioning properly. They will check the burners, oven, and other features to ensure that everything is working as it should. If there are any lingering issues, our specialists will address them until the range is fully repaired.
